How to fix blank screen error on whatsapp

Are you facing a blank screen issue on WhatsApp when you open a chat?

Apparently, this glitch is being attributed to the latest version of WhatsApp Beta.

Here are some user reports: 'Every chat I open just displays a blank page, but I can see the 'homescreen'. Others have complained, "The only chat that works is the Meta AI chat; all others appear blank". In this guide, you'll learn how to overcome the blank screen or page error on WhatsApp chats on Android or iPhone.

**How to Fix Blank Screen Error on WhatsApp**

To resolve the WhatsApp blank screen problem, you need to get out of the WhatsApp Beta program and then reinstall the app directly from the official website. Alternatively, you might want to try uninstalling WhatsApp and then reinstalling an older version from a third-party website.

**Fix 1: Leave WhatsApp Beta and Reinstall the App Directly**

  • Open WhatsApp, tap on the 3 dots at the top right, and then select “Settings”.
  • Navigate to Chats > Chat backup > Back up your chats (this will save a copy of your chats).
  • Next, open the Play Store and search for "WhatsApp".
  • Look for the option to "Leave" the Beta program and select it if you're currently enrolled.
  • Uninstall WhatsApp from your device (just ensure that you've backed up your chats first).
  • Visit whatsapp.com/download and select "Download WhatsApp directly".
  • Launch WhatsApp and the error should be resolved now.

**Fix 2: Download an Older Version of WhatsApp**

  • First, uninstall WhatsApp from your device (don't forget to backup your chats).
  • Visit https://whatsapp-messenger.en.uptodown.com/android.
  • Select "Older versions" and look for a WhatsApp version released prior to November 1, 2024 (for instance, October 29, 2024).
  • Tap on "Download" followed by "Download anyway".
  • Once the download is complete, open the file and tap on "Install".
  • Finally, launch WhatsApp and the issue should be fixed.

**Fix 3: Share a WhatsApp Profile Picture**

  • Open WhatsApp and tap on any profile picture.
  • Tap on the info (i) icon.
  • Select the 3 dots at the top right corner.
  • Share it as a contact card to yourself or any other contact from the share menu.
  • This should resolve the problem.
